Truth is realer than fiction

Recently we gave up on Disney+, because every superhero movie is pretty much the same after you’ve seen a few, unless they’re really dumb and then they may be distinctive, but unfortunately also unwatchable. We got Apple TV instead because we can’t go anywhere without someone trying to talk to us about Ted Lasso. It’s really good … I get annoyed sometimes when they create tension artificially, like with the team being great, then unable to win, then great. I mean, if that happened in real life it wouldn’t be tense, it would just be happening. You might be upset about it when your team does poorly or happy when they win, but this disconnect between how things feel on TV and how they feel in real life is too often exploited. Also, I’m really sensitive I guess.

We also started watching The Expanse, on Amazon Prime, because one of those old friends I met in CA wanted me to watch it so he could discuss it. We’ve seen two episodes and I don’t get it, yet. It’s a perfectly well-crafted show, but that’s just it. It’s crafted. It’s the same setup and so far the same story as lots and lots of other stories, and not just science fiction. It’s basically a Western, or a spy novel, or a Medieval political thriller, or whatever. This faction and that faction are at odds, and this other faction is in the middle, and some yet-unknown faction is trying to light the spark that gets them all to burn each other down. There’s the errant rich girl, the hot smart girl, the dumb brute, the misunderstood man seeking redemption who will clearly be some kind of hero before the end, the hardboiled detective and his partner, the tyro. We have to keep watching so I can talk to my friend about it, and it’s not bad so that’s fine. I just hope something happens that justifies not so much his interest, as all the good reviews it has gotten. Science fiction gets a pass from critics when it’s highly-produced, and it gets a pass from fans all the time. It doesn’t have to be original or even good.

That brings me to Shrinking, another Apple TV show that’s pretty good. Mostly the acting, but it’s creative in other ways, too, and to the extent that there’s a story, it doesn’t feel at all clichéd. Maybe it would to someone who’s seen and read as many stories about shrinks as I have science fiction, but I kind of doubt there are that many stories about shrinks. Even though Hollywood loves the topic, obviously.

Anyway, there was this scene in Shrinking where the main female lead is talking, I think to her best friend, another woman, about some guy she was dating. I think the main male lead. Anyway, she says something like “at least he’s not into tit-slapping” and her friend is like “what?” and she’s like “it’s a thing, all men are doing it now, they must see it in porn.” Well, at this point I had been whipping and paddling and gently smacking my wife’s tits a little bit for a couple months or so. I mean, not hard or anything. But I was kind of surprised to hear this kind of statement on the show; it was presented not like anyone’s personal opinion but as any sensible person’s opinion, right? It’s not like the friend was like “oh, I like that sometimes.” She was shocked that it ever even happened, with anyone.

I mean, all men are doing it but no women want it to happen? How could that be? I suppose there are a lot of relationships that aren’t always 100% consensual in bed, or maybe it’s just like us and I try things and sometimes try things she doesn’t want to do right now, or ever. And I guess if that’s happening in a hookup, with more or less a stranger, it would be uncomfortable. But, like, if you were trying it for the first time, you would start slowly, right, just testing the waters and prepared to be told no? I guess men are dicks.

But the true point of this story is the other night, Thursday, we had really great fucking sex and I was slapping the hell out of her tits and she was loving it. It started when she had a machine going on her clit–I forget which one, but nothing new, it’s one I’ve mentioned before. I had been using on her for who knows how long and how many orgasms, then I had her take over so I could watch her and jack off and get super hard and spurt loads of pre-cum and spread it all over my cock. Well, the moment arose where she needed to take some punishment, but I didn’t have any implements of torture, and she was on her back so I couldn’t get to her ass. So I tentatively whacked her underboob, and she moaned and shivered in ecstasy. Like, really liked it. So I kept going. I wasn’t hitting hard enough to hurt, but enough to sting a little. Way softer than I was whipping her ass the other day, for example.

But of course, these are her breasts, a lot more sensitive than her butt cheeks. And that paid off. She was howling (quietly), moaning, squealing, and coming over and over. Every time I hit her, her body convulsed in pleasure. While I was feeling power over her, it wasn’t like the whipping and spanking earlier, where we understood she was being punished for liking being punished, and me feeling like she was in complete thrall to me. This was just her feeling really good. (I haven’t gone into it here, but we also had tons of excellent doggie-style the same night, and she called me “master” and begged me to fuck her harder a few times, so I got some of that in other ways.)

I asked her about it afterward. I mean, it was clear it felt really good. She said, as she has said before and I believe I’ve heard other people say this or read it somewhere, that there is a connection directly from her breasts, especially her nipples (which I was hitting some of the time), directly to her clit. So she was using the vibrator on her clit, and I was stimulating it from underneath, so to speak, via her tits, and she was in heaven and it was beautiful to watch. I got enjoyment out of it just by watching her (and by pulling on my cock with my other hand of course).

I’ve said this before in different ways, but there’s this perception out there that practitioners of S&M appreciate it for its kink. Kink for kink’s sake. That’s not what it’s like when we’re doing it. We’re just having sex, doing things we both enjoy. In fact we don’t even usually enjoy them in the same way–I get turned on by telling her stories about hotwifing her out to other men, and she can’t even hear the story but gets turned on because I’m going fucking nuts. I get this powerful feeling of ownership and control, and she’s just enjoying the pure physical pleasure. This might not be a quite coherent thought, but when I see something like what happened in Shrinking, I just get a little sad and think

  1. Don’t go smacking people you don’t know.
  2. Don’t smack people when you don’t know why you’re doing it. What do you enjoy about it?
  3. If you’re doing it because you saw someone else doing it, in porn, which is fiction, realize it’s going to be different in real life.
